The third day of the Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange project "Unmasking Emotions" (Project No. 2025-3-ES02-KA152-YOU-000385559), coordinated by Generaciones Saludables España, continued in Madrid, Spain, with a dynamic programme designed to help participants recognize emotions, strengthen empathy, and raise public awareness about mental health. Bringing together young people from Spain, Türkiye, Italy, Hungary, and Georgia, the project continued to encourage emotional learning through interactive and experiential activities.
The day began with "Feel, Show!", an engaging activity where participants used body language, facial expressions, and role-playing to communicate different emotions without words. By interpreting one another's expressions and reflecting on emotional experiences, young people improved their emotional awareness while discovering the importance of non-verbal communication in building empathy and understanding.
Participants then challenged themselves in the "Anxiety Labyrinth" workshop, an experiential activity designed to simulate feelings associated with stress and anxiety. Through carefully designed scenarios and guided reflection sessions, they explored how anxiety can affect thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. The workshop also encouraged participants to discuss healthy coping strategies and recognize the importance of seeking support when facing emotional difficulties.
In the afternoon, learning moved beyond the project venue through the "Emotions Meet on the Street" activity. Participants engaged with members of the local community in a public space, inviting them to share emotions, thoughts, and personal messages on a collaborative emotion board. By creating open conversations about mental health, the activity promoted empathy, encouraged emotional expression, and helped challenge the stigma that often surrounds mental health issues. It also increased the visibility of the project within the local community.
The day's programme concluded with the inspiring "Mood Hidden in Notes" session, where participants explored the emotional power of music. Listening to carefully selected songs, they expressed the feelings the music evoked through words, drawings, movement, and group discussion. The activity demonstrated that emotions can be experienced differently by every individual while strengthening participants' ability to understand both themselves and others.
The day ended with the traditional "Feedback Dice" reflection activity, allowing participants to evaluate their learning journey, share memorable moments, and celebrate the personal growth they had experienced throughout the day.
Through meaningful dialogue, creative expression, and direct interaction with the local community, Unmasking Emotions continued to demonstrate that understanding emotions is one of the strongest foundations for building resilient individuals and more compassionate societies.
