United Colors for an Inclusive Future: Young People Coming Together for a More Inclusive Society

Coordinated by Generaciones Saludables España and funded under the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Programme (KA152-YOU), the project "United Colors for an Inclusive Future" (2025-1-ES02-KA152-YOU-000297490) brings together young people from different countries in Gijón, Spain, to raise awareness about disability issues, promote social inclusion, and encourage equal opportunities for all.

Taking place between 30 September and 7 October 2025, the project gathers participants from Spain, Türkiye, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and Hungary around a common goal. The project aims to increase awareness of the social, economic, and physical barriers faced by people with disabilities while encouraging young people to become more conscious of human rights, equality, and social responsibility.

Throughout the project, participants will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges that people with disabilities encounter in their daily lives. By exploring issues related to education, healthcare, transportation, and employment, they will work together to develop practical solutions while strengthening their empathy and becoming active contributors to positive social change.

The programme includes a wide range of activities such as visits to organizations working with people with disabilities, sign language workshops, awareness campaigns, intercultural evenings, team-building exercises, and non-formal learning activities. Through these experiences, participants will not only increase their awareness of disability-related issues but also develop valuable competencies including leadership, communication, time management, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Another important aspect of the project is the promotion of intercultural dialogue. Young people from different cultural backgrounds will have the opportunity to share their traditions, experiences, and perspectives while learning from one another. This exchange will contribute to reducing stereotypes, strengthening mutual understanding, and fostering more inclusive communities.

Beyond raising awareness about disability, "United Colors for an Inclusive Future" encourages young people to become active citizens committed to equality, social justice, and inclusion. Participants are expected to transfer the knowledge and experiences gained during the project to their local communities and initiate actions that support a more accessible and inclusive society.

Just as different colors come together to create a vibrant and meaningful picture, this project demonstrates how young people from diverse backgrounds can unite around shared values and work together toward a future that is more accessible, equitable, and inclusive for everyone.
