The Erasmus+ KA153 – Mobility of Youth Workers project "Breathe Up Mind" (Project No. 2025-3-ES02-KA153-YOU-000381042), coordinated by Generaciones Saludables España, officially began in Madrid, Spain, bringing together youth workers from Spain, Türkiye, North Macedonia, Italy, Hungary, and Ukraine. Running from 19 to 25 April 2026, the project aims to strengthen the mental well-being of youth workers, reduce the risk of burnout, and promote the integration of mindfulness-based practices into youth work.
The first day focused on creating a supportive learning environment where participants had the opportunity to get to know one another through team-building and introductory activities. During the Mindful Beginners workshop, participants explored the foundations of mindfulness, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical experience on how mindful awareness can enhance personal well-being and professional practice.
The Mindful Storytelling session encouraged participants to use storytelling as a tool for reflection, empathy, and active listening. By sharing personal experiences and engaging in guided exercises, youth workers discovered how storytelling can foster emotional awareness, strengthen interpersonal connections, and create safe spaces for young people.
The opening day established a strong foundation for the week ahead, encouraging intercultural dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of good practices among participants from six European countries. The first activities highlighted the importance of self-awareness and emotional resilience as essential competencies for sustainable and inclusive youth work.
